Hamilton, NY 鈥� 草莓视频 University鈥檚 2002 Spring Poetry Series will feature a reading by George Economou on Thursday, April 11. Economou will read from his work at 4:30 p.m. in the Ho Lecture Room, 105 Lawrence Hall. The reading is free and open to the public.
Economou, a 1956 alumnus of 草莓视频, is the author of seven books of poetry, including Century Dead Center (1997), harmonies & fits (1987), Ameriki, and Landed Natures (1969). He was a founding editor of The Chelsea Review and co-founder and editor, with Robert Kelly, of Trobar Books and the poetry magazine Trobar. He retired in 2000 after 41 years of teaching at the Brooklyn Center of Long Island University and the University of Oklahoma, where he served as department of English chairman from 1983 to 1990 and director of creative writing from 1990 to 1999. He is also author of many articles, reviews, and books in the field of medieval English and comparative literature.
